Our Design Build Process
The Backwoods Design Build Company follows a two-step contractual process for all of our projects. The first is the design phase, the second is the construction or build phase. The design phase of a project is where we work together to put the project parameters in place, this phase has its own contract separate from the construction phase and contract. Based on the scope of your project this could mean that we land on the perfect new layout for your existing space and we could select interior finished materials like cabinetry and flooring. If the scope is a new construction project or addition, we will collaborate on the perfect design of your dream home and work through the construction documents. Every project is unique in its scope, and the design phase looks a little different each time based on our client’s needs. After the design phase is complete our goal is to be in a position to responsibly estimate the cost of the scoped project and present a construction contract.
The construction contract signing is the beginning of the second phase. During the construction phase we are again your one point of contact throughout the rest of the project. We will communicate during the pre-construction and construction phases, work through finalizing client selections, and nail down details as they come into the project timeline as determined through continual project management. The construction process is heavily reliant on planning and communication, we are there to manage and support all aspects of bringing your dream home into reality. Client’s love working with us because we mitigate excess stress by eliminating their coordination between multiple parties involved in bringing
the project together. We are the architect, designer, and general contractor team in one Company. See more about the design build concept here.
